I am overwhelmed by the love and support that I have received from Pleasant View's wonderful faculty, staff, and Mrs. Borges, PTO, past and present students and families, Smithfield Public School’s Administrative Team, Smithfield’s faculty, staff, and district personnel, Town of Smithfield employees, Smithfield’s police and fire, and Smithfield's community at large since my retirement announcement.
Families, thank you for entrusting me with your most valuable resource, your children. I have embraced the opportunities I have had to see many of them over the years.
Former students, whether I have had the privilege of being your teacher, assistant principal, or your principal, over the past twenty-seven years, I am so proud of all you have become and accomplished.
Please know that leaving this profession has been one of the hardest decisions that I have ever made. My wonderful family and friends have "gone the extra mile" with me as I have soul-searched for the right conclusion.
Many, if not most of you, have witnessed my tears over the past several days. Please know that while many are tears of sadness, your kindness has also prompted countless tears of gratitude.
