December 4th- December 9th

Dear Families,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This is a busy and exciting time at Pleasant View. The upcoming month’s newsletters will be jam packed with news, updates,  and upcoming events.

To start, a HUGE thank you to Alex Farland and the Boy Scouts for installing a Free Lending Library in the corner of the garden on the left side of the cafeteria as part of his Eagle Scout project.  The Free Lending Library has a variety of book levels.  Feel free to take a book and or to leave a book.

Attendance

Attendance across the nation has been a HUGE issue post-Covid.  We need all students in school when they are well. Please obtain a doctor’s note whenever your child is absent for more than two days or released early for appointments of illness.   We appreciate families scheduling their planned vacations during  No School Days.

Lastly, any family who’s student exceeds being absent more than 10% of the month, an attendance reminder  is generated and sent out through the RI Department of Education.

A Message from Mrs. Clapprood On Book Fair News!

Our school's Scholastic Book Fair is coming up!  The week of December 11th-15th, students will have the opportunity to shop during school hours. Parents will have the opportunity to shop during Parent Teacher Conferences.  A schedule with your child's exact day and time will be sent out towards the end of this week.   Book Fair flyers were sent home on Friday with more information attached.  If you can't make the book fair, feel free to shop online using the following link:  https://www.scholastic.com/bf/pleasantviewelementary1
