#EngageEnergizeEducate

January 16th - January 19th

Dear Families,

It has been a busy week at Pleasant View Elementary!  All students have been hard at work completing their STAR Reading and STAR Math winter benchmark testing.

Smithfield elementary students will be taking part in a brief “Connections” survey in the next two weeks at school. The goal for our students at Pleasant View Elementary is for each of them to feel welcomed and connected to someone in our building. Connectedness is an indicator of social-emotional well-being for school-age students. This survey will let us know how we are doing with improving school culture, school climate and school connections at Pleasant View. Mr. Corrigan, Ms. DiRaimo, and Ms. Sampson will inform families should a child report they do not feel that they have any connections in the school. If you have any questions, please reach out to myself or Mrs. Dohoney at tviera@smithfield-ps.org or kdohoney@smithfield-ps.org.

Next, we would like to thank the RI Recorder Society for visiting our school on Thursday. They put on a great performance for our third and fourth graders. The children were able to learn so much more about an instrument they already play. The music sounded beautiful and our students were so well-behaved! Below are some photos from the performance.
