#Engage, Energize, & Educate
February 12th-February 16th
Dear PVE Families,
Thank you for supporting your child on Tuesday, February 13th during our Virtual Day. With your help and your child’s effort, we were able to have a successful day of learning from home! Students and staff enjoyed our “Bracing for Winter Break” spirit days leading up to February vacation week. PVE has spirit!
There will be No School from Monday, February 19th-Friday, February 23rd for Winter Break.
We hope your child has a wonderful week off next week. Both the Lexia and Freckle platforms are accessible during the winter break for skills practice at home.
Survey Works for Families
Please help us know how we are doing at Pleasant View Elementary, by completing a Survey Works survey (from the RI Dept. of Education) for each of your children that attend PVE. The deadline for feedback is MARCH 31st.
District Open House
Smithfield School Department is hosting an Early Childhood Open House in March. No appointments are necessary. Below is the flyer.

The March Calendar Raffe Has Started!
This year's March calendar raffle has gone digital! There is no required number of calendars to sell. We just ask that you share the link with friends and family.
https://pves-pto-2024-calendar-raffle.cheddarup.com
Each calendar raffle purchase of $10, prior to March 1st, will have a chance at winning each of the 31 prizes, including the March 17th grand prize of $500! Winners will be drawn daily and contacted by email to claim their prize. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards funding Teacher Appreciation Week, honoring the amazing teachers and staff at PVES!
As a bonus incentive, the PVES student who sells the most calendar raffles will win a new Chromebook! Please be sure to include the name and grade of the student that you are supporting when you purchase your raffle calendar to make sure they receive credit for the sale.
Thank you for your support!
EveryDay Speech “Shout Out!”
During the past two months, our paraprofessionals have been receiving training on the EveryDay Speech platform.
We are continuing to use this platform once a week in the lunchroom to increase students’ awareness of others, promote kindness, and provide students with strategies to problem solve and self-regulate.
Teachers are using EveryDay Speech in their classrooms during Morning Meeting as do our Social Worker, School Psychologists, and Special Educators. We are looking forward to sharing these resources with the YMCA staff to assist with transitions before and after school as well as to support the use of common language with students.
