February 26th, 2026
Dear Families,
We were thrilled to welcome staff and students back from winter break on Thursday. The energy in the building has been wonderful, and we are quickly settled back into our learning routines.
Survey Works/Help Us Highlight What A WONDERFUL School PVES is!

Any parent who has completed their child’s Survey Works survey can enter to win a drawing by emailing pvesurveyworks@smithfield-ps.org and sending a screenshot of your submitted Survey Works. The deadline for all Survey Works is April 10th, 2026. Thank you for your support!

Fast pass to cut the lunch line
RIDE works in partnership with schools across the state to ensure that students and families have a meaningful voice in Rhode Island’s education system. Since 2017, every year, all students in grades 3–12 and their families, as well as every educator and administrator in Rhode Island public schools, have had the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback and data directly to RIDE.
SurveyWorks asks students and educators about their learning and teaching experiences in school, as well as questions about the support they need to be successful.
Below is the link for families to complete the survey.

Blue Ribbon
At our recent School Improvement Team meeting, we learned from Alison Strumolo, a parent who works at the Rhode Island Department of Education, that our school was just one point short of receiving a Blue Ribbon recognition for student growth. While we were very close, we continue to be incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our staff and the strong academic gains our students are making each day. This achievement reflects the commitment of our entire school community, and we will keep striving to support every child in reaching their fullest potential.
