#Engage, Energize,& Educate

May 29th, 2026

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of the school year, our chronically absent rate has increased from 6.9% to 8%, in part due to the extended Memorial Day weekend and an increase in absences. We ask for your partnership in helping us finish the year strong by maintaining consistent routines and ensuring your child arrives at school on time each day for the full school day, regardless of the nice weather. Consistent attendance helps students remain engaged in learning, maintain routines, and end the school year success.

Unified Field Day

Yesterday, students participated in Unified Field Day at LaPerche Elementary School. We appreciate Mrs. Marques Jordan and all of the Pleasant View Elementary School staff members who supported this wonderful event. Students enjoyed the opportunity to participate in fun activities, build friendships, and celebrate teamwork and inclusion together.

Fifth Grade Field Trip To Boston/Wednesday 6/3/26

As a reminder, per district policy, students are not permitted to bring cell phones to school and cell phones are prohibited on the fifth grade field trip to Boston. Please ensure that your child leaves all cell phones and personal electronic devices at home on the day of the trip. We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe, focused, and enjoyable experience for all students.

Third Grade Chicks

Our third grade students are excitedly studying chicks as part of their life science learning. Last week, the chicks began hatching, giving students a firsthand opportunity to observe the life cycle and development of living organisms. Students have enjoyed watching the chicks emerge from their eggs and learning about their needs, growth, and behaviors through this engaging hands-on experience.

Kindergarten Screening & Orientation

Our kindergarten screenings will take place by appointment only on Tuesday, August 25th-Thursday, August 27th with Friday, August 28th being the first day of school for kindergarten students. We will be sending the screening appointments via email shortly.
