Rhode Island Apple Crunch 2022:
Pleasant View will celebrate local apples today, October 19th, (12:00 noon/all lunches). For those who are able, we will be joining schools across Rhode Island (and the country) in celebrating National Farm to School Month by crunching into a locally grown apple!

After brainstorming ways to be kind online, elementary students created messages of kindness in their maker center and learned how to "share with care" in their technology center during library class. Digital Citizenship Week 2022
Our Walking School Bus is scheduled to be "on the road" tomorrow morning. We hope to see you there!

Join us on October 25th at 7 PM for the FREE fall concert at SHS featuring the chorus, band, Sentinel Singers, and soloists. Our students have been hard at work developing exciting lighting changes for each number. At about an hour run time, it will be family friendly too!

Our 2022-2023 school year's first Smithfield Special Education Local Advisory Committee (SSELAC) meeting will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the high school's media center. There was so much excitement during yesterday's district grade five band instrument night at Pleasant View!




Congratulations to SHS art teacher, Kristine Straus, who has been selected as the 2023 RI Art Education Association High School Teacher of the Year!

Pleasant View kicked off the Local Food Ambassador (LFA) program! Students taste-tested baked beet "fries" during lunch on Friday. Thank you to Chef Reece, the RI Healthy Schools Coalition, FarmFreshRI, and the LFA volunteers for introducing our students to local veggies.

Our Unified Friday was a wonderful day! Administrators, faculty, staff, students, and guests were all energized by our common understanding of what kindness, respect, and inclusion look like. Our arrival and Morning Meeting were powerful!
